Olhos de Água famed for its fresh water springs, which can be seen amongst the rocks when the tide is out, is a quiet fishing village between Albufeira and Vilamoura which is best suited for families who want a relaxing holiday, or as a base for exploring other areas in the Algarve. It is perfect if you are wanting to have a peaceful atmosphere but also be near enough to be able to enjoy the amenities present in the neighbouring towns.
Most of the activity in Olhos d’Agua is on the main street, with this road running down to the hill to beach, and the promenade, which is fringed by palms and a very pleasant stroll. Here you’ll find a large selection of bars and restaurants which serve typically local cuisine.
The local beach, Praia d´Água, is ideal and is made prettier by the umbrella pine trees on the cliffs and its rocky outcrops.
Nearby beaches include Praia da Falesia, probably one of the most beautiful in this part of the Algarve.
